Rain drops like the clear sparkling tears that left the cheeks of the Goddess who looks upon us from heaven above.Her iris drowns in tears when she sees us tremble in the blazing warm weather.And when she is full of rage nothing can stop her from creating thunderstorms in the clear sky.Much like the heavenly goddess, we also have some goddesses who provide us with our basic necessities to live on but we tend to never hear about them. We all know that our food comes from the farmers working hard in the field…when you first hear the word “farmer” what image does your brain form? Most probably a man working hard in the blazing sun.How is it possible that we tend to overlook the female farmers also known as “Farmerette”.They are the heart of the entire process who dry the ‘annaj’ we consume ,who sow the seeds for the crops ,who pluck out the weeds,etc. and contribute as equal as a farmer.They take care of the domestic life and more importantly they take care of children, and by ‘children’ i don’t only refer to the children they only give birth to but the millions of children all over the country who she feeds with her patience and hard work.Let us not overlook such an important part of agriculture and provide every women a status in the society equal to a man.
